Hand Media International (HMI) has announced the promotion of Jonathan Pittock to Chief Operating Officer, as the business continues to strengthen its management structure and build on two consecutive years of growth.

Having been with HMI for six years, Pittock has played a central role in the continued development of the business, working across its commercial, editorial, digital, development, marketing and operational functions.

The appointment comes at an important stage in HMI’s growth, as the company continues its journey towards becoming a digital first media business while maintaining significant investment in its established premium print portfolio.

This includes the introduction of newly redesigned print products across HMI’s brands, continued development of its digital platforms with an increasing focus on SEO and AEO, further investment in its internal development capabilities and the expansion of its events proposition.

Having established a growing programme of virtual events, HMI is also preparing to introduce in person events as the company continues to develop new ways of connecting its specialist audiences, industry partners and commercial clients.

The promotion will see Pittock take greater responsibility for the day to day operation and development of HMI, working alongside CEO David Rossiter and the wider management team to deliver the company’s next stage of growth.

David Rossiter Comments:

David Rossiter, CEO of Hand Media International, said: “Jon has made a significant contribution to HMI over the last six years and has become an important part of the leadership of the business.

“Over the last two years in particular, we have achieved back to back growth while making substantial changes across the company. His appointment as Chief Operating Officer reflects both the role he is already playing within the business and our ambitions for the future. I’m looking forward to continuing to work closely with him as we take HMI into its next stage of development.”

Jon Pittock Comments:

Commenting on his appointment, Pittock said: “I’m delighted to be appointed Chief Operating Officer, but for me this is much more about what we are building together at HMI than a change in job title.

“One of the things I’m most proud of is the togetherness we have developed across HMI. We have a simple mindset that everything can be improved. Whether that is our digital products, print, events, commercial offering or the way we operate internally, we should always be looking at how we make the next thing better.

“We have made a lot of progress, but there is still a huge amount we want to achieve. Becoming more digitally focused, developing our SEO and AEO strategy, continuing to improve our premium print products, expanding our events and investing in our people and technology are all part of that.”

“The best is yet to come.”

The appointment forms part of Hand Media International’s continued investment in its people, products and infrastructure as the company positions itself for its next phase of growth.
