The recent VE Day 80th anniversary celebrations saw street parties, concerts and military flypasts take place across Europe. To mark the occasion, David Rossiter, CEO of Hand Media International, attended a special event in London to honour family members who took part in WW1, WW2, the Korean War and the Malayan Emergency.
The event took place at the historic OWO Hotel in Whitehall, a venue once visited by influential political and military leaders, including Sir Winston Churchill, Lord Haldane and T.E. Lawrence.
The guests also attended a concert at Horse Guard’s Parade, the ceremonial parade ground in St James’s Park, that brought together music, storytelling and tributes to family members who served during the conflicts.
Speaking about the event, Rossiter said: “As we honour the bravery and sacrifices of those who served, I’m reminded of my own family members who played their part in these terrible wars. Their courage shaped the world we know today, and it’s our responsibility to ensure their stories and sacrifices are never forgotten.”
